No Mercy for the 'Merseyside' !

GUNNER STUNNER! ARSHAVIN Seals the WINNER! Like I anticipated earlier.. Gunners did take advantage of the week where none of the premier league contenders won their home game. Chelsea dropped 2 points as they drew level with Everton & Man U lost all three points as Aston Villa earned their first ever victory at Old Trafford in 23 years. With so much going in favour for Arsenal it was the moment for the Gunners to make hay while the sun shined. With the home crowd behind, Liverpool started of brightly & with  Torres & Gerrard starting after a long gap there was hope for the Liverpool supporters & it soon became  more evident when Kuyt scored the opening goal & later finished the first half leading 1-0. A huge sigh of relief for the Gooners when Glen Johnson netted a own goal to make things level. Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas post match said a furious half-time outburst from Gunners manager Arsene Wenger inspired them to come from behind and beat Liverpool 2-1 & that started showing off as Arshavin continued haunting Anfield & by the 58th minute, Gunners were ahead.. courtesy a sublime strike strike by Arsenal ace Arshavin. Back in April, the previous season Arshavin had created history by striking 4 times but failed to snatch a victory inspite of such splendid performance as Liverpool leveled with Arsenal & the score at the full time showed 4-4. It was a turnaround this time as Arshavin again showed No Mercy for the 'Merseyside'! but his single strike was enough for the Gunners to seal the victory at Anfield. With a game in hand, we are  at the strongest position in the title race. Gunners all gunned up to burn down Burnley.Go GUNNERS!!!!!!!!!!

Gunners get back to winning ways.

Arsenal got back to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Stoke City at the Emirates Stadium. In an attempt to solve the sudden dearth of goals that had coincided with Van Persie’s injury, Wenger gave Andrei Arshavin his chance to prove that he can be the answer in the problem “Striker” role. The Growing Arsenal injury list just got bigger; both Eduardo & Walcott rejoined the injured squad again & did not play against Stoke. The Gunners started brightly, Fabregas put Arshavin through one on one with Sorensen but he came out to block the Russian's shot. Arsenal were then given a golden chance to take the lead in the 20th minute when Arshavin was tripped by Delap in the box and referee pointed to the spot. Fabregas stepped up to take the penalty but Sorensen stretched to his left to palm the ball around the post. Arshavin, though, finally did make Arsenal’s dominance count on 26 minutes when he exchanged passes with Fabregas and then adjusted his feet brilliantly to shoot into the bottom corner. Wenger had chosen Arshavin ahead of striker Carlos Vela at the start but the Mexican was given a chance to impress in the second half when he replaced Rosicky. Wenger had accused Stoke of deliberately attempting to injure Arsenal players during the fixture between the two at the Britannia Stadium last year and Stoke maintained their physical approach in the second half. The second goal came with 11 minutes remaining when Ramsey picked up the ball on the edge of the box and produced a crafted finish which moved away from Sorensen's dive. Crisis averted & Gunners coast to comfortable win. Not to forget, Arsenal scored for the first time in Premier League since the absence of Van Persie & Its time to celebrate & enjoy the weekend as Gunners get back to winning ways.

NOVEMBER PAIN..

“REMEMBER.. REMEMBER.. THE MONTH WAS NOVEMBER”. The Gunners had no guns no roses & without any Gain succumbed to the November Pain. Tons of critics are bent upon criticising Gunners for lack of experience, Inability to win in the big games.. Among others… But if we recall what exactly happened just a couple of weeks back, when the same critics were hailing Arsenal & published in every tabloid on earth “Arsenal at the moment are playing the best football in Europe”. I think that statement would’ve blatantly silenced the critics if we had won the Chelsea game irrespective of what happened at Sunderland. In what was considered as a must win game for Arsene Wenger's men, they started the brighter of the two sides. The Gunners moved forward at pace and passed the ball around in the fashion they are famous for. We played some decent stuff, and as usual Arsene pointed to our possession stats in his post-match press conference. However, lots of neat passing moves mean nothing compared to the horrible “0 - 3″ that shone out from the scoreboard. There were many reasons for our defeat. The main one in my eyes was that Chelsea were better in the two keys areas of the pitch, they were more potent in attack and more resolute in defence. The November Pain.. I was referring to earlier is also because of our long & lengthy Injury list. Van Persie, Bendtner, Clichy, Gibbs, Diaby these were the guys who were in the first team when Arsenal recently had 13 matches unbeaten spree.. 5 players injured from the playing first 11.. Tells the story of what we were lacking.. Especially Van Persie who was in Glorious touch & being the highest scorer for us this season.. missing him is really costly for Arsenal at this juncture. There was no other solution, really. But last week, this solution simply didn’t work out and I believe it was because Walcott, Nasri, Rosicky and Eduardo are not 100% fit as they have been out for way too long to expect them to be on fire immediately after their return from injury. Overall our weaknesses were exposed once again, despite being the better side for long periods we failed to make it count and were left cursing some slack defending. Listening to Arsene's comments in the press conference I cannot disagree with much he says, the decision to disallow our goal certainly made a big difference and the scoreline certainly flattered Chelsea. But In Arsene we STILL trust.. it’s a long season ahead. Arsenal must pull together.
Gunner 4 Ever.

Change is in..

No wonder, Adebayor is world class & being named as African Footballer of the year shows his prowess. After Henry's departure Ade took over from where henry left but the result wasn' t the same. His lack of consistency & not giving full commitment to the club, has made him one of the most taunted player . But he has showed what a precocious player he is with his spectacular goals & especially the one against Villa Real is still ringing in my head. He is good but he is really not there, in the sense he has consumed enough time but still hasn' t delivered to the expected level. Its too late & 5 years trophyless drought needs a more appropriate & delivering injection & finally time has come to look for more productive options who can work wonders for Arsenal & bring back all the priceless glorious moments we cherished & if possible a repeat of 49 unbeaten.... i know its a dream but we've done it & we're invincibles & with proper ammunition we can have a strong arsenal, mighty & strong enough to gun down any opposition. Not to undermine, Arsenal are getting double what Ade is worth. The guy doesnt score often in big games. Arsene will find 2 good young guys with that money and be laughing at City for wasting their money. Robinho, Tevez, Santa Cruz, Adebayor? Someone is not going to be happy in that situation. I will keep shooting ..... stay glued!!
